Come to the career matter, you may already read a lot of career guidance, which involves measuring your current skills and personality etc, and then deciding what you would be the most suited for.
In my opinion, I think this approach is not apply to everybody because people are complex. And any sort of test will ultimately be a gross simplification of what’s important to you and what you like to do.
I once heard a story about a wealthy woman who was looking for a husband. She invested over $20,000 on a series of psychological surveys to find a potential candidate to match her. Based on the survey results, she met individually with the dozen candidates that were her best match. After all that money and effort, she decided she didn’t like any of them.
Six months later, she was engaged to someone she had met randomly at a bar (people don’t know what they want until they see it, and surveys aren’t much better).
What I want to say is that in whatever you do, don’t limit your scope, to find something you passionate about – you need to experiment with dozens of wildly different activities. Don’t let any questionnaire tell you what you should or shouldn’t do or go for.
It is the same principle for pursuing, starting and building up your own internet business. Find something you passionate about and the things you love doing, then find a way to make money by doing it.
